With a west facing end terrace to bask in the evening sun, Skylark is a very light and roomy home office, tucked away in a quiet corner of a Downland village garden with views over neighbouring fields.

 

The brief was for an internet connected home office that could also double as either a garden retreat for a little peace and quiet, or an extra warm and cosy space for teenagers to hang out with friends. 

 

Skylark has double French doors with sidelights, and a double casement window on one side, and a large window and sun terrace at one end. It is clad on three sides with untreated red cedar, and in anthracite grey wriggly tin on the fourth, with oak accents at the corners and around the windows and doors. Skylark's specification includes full electrics (dimmable internal and external lights, multiple double sockets with integrated USB charging ports and weather proof external sockets) and a fabulous 4KW Chesneys of London wood burner on a slate hearth.

 

At 9ft x 20ft, plus the sun terrace, Skylark is one of our largest huts, with room for a daybed (that opens into a double), a desk, shelving and a seating area.
